How do I record?

Before you go out...

  1. Attach RememBird to your binoculars usng the self-adhesive Velcro® strips or attach the supplied strap.
     Note: Applying self-adhesive Velcro to binoculars should be considered a permanent fixing. Attempting to remove the pads may damage the surface finish of the binoculars.
  2. Press and hold the power button (A) for 2 seconds to wake RememBird up.
  3. Check that the battery indicator (J) flashes green and change the battery if not.
  4. Check the capacity indicator (I) and upload recordings to your PC or plug in an empty memory card if it is nearly full

To record notes whilst watching a bird...

  1. Whilst looking through your binoculars, press the record button (C) nearest your mouth
  2. Whisper your observations.
  3. Release the button to stop recording.

To record notes if not using binoculars...

  1. Hold RememBird vertically, about 6 inches from your mouth.
  2. Press the upper recording button (C).
  3. Talk quietly into the microphone (K)
  4. Release the button to stop recording.

To record birdsong or ambient noise...

  1. Point your binoculars at the source of the noise you want to record
  2. Press the record button nearest the bird (B).
  3. Release the button to stop recording.

To highlight a section of recording...

    If you want to mark a recording for later review, simply release and quickly press the recording button again. Each “click” is marked with a star symbol when you upload the recordings to your PC/Mac. Click twice or more to highlight the most interesting recordings.
