Downloading the "lame" encoder

To create your own Audio Field-guides for RememBird, you will need to download the Lame MP3 Encoder.

Windows Users

  • Download the Lame 3.97 release from http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php
  • When you have finished downloading LAME, unzip it and save the file lame.exe anywhere on your computer.
  • The first time you use the Build Custom Audio Field-guide wizard, use the arrow button on the General Settings panel to locate the file you have saved in step 3 above.

Mac Users

  • Download the Lame 3.97 release for MacOS X from http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php
  • When you have finished downloading, use Stuffit Expander to extract the files. (This may happen automatically.) Save the file called lame.exe anywhere on your computer.
  • The first time you use the Build Custom Audio Field-guide button, use the arrow button on the General Settings panel to locate the file you have saved in step 3 above
